The Grigia Alpina breed belongs to the gray breeds of the Alpine arch and it is certainly one of the oldest resident of the Alps.
Thanks to the fact that is able to adapt perfectly to the environmental conditions of the mountain areas, the Grigia Alpina has always been bred in remote areas. Currently it is widespread in the Alto Adige’s high mountain areas and in Trentino’s and Bellunese’s Dolomite valleys where it is born, raised and butchered.
Its breeding is based on pasture which makes them a rustic and frugal animals. The meat has a strong and savory flavour.
